Ekebergparken is a public sculpture and cultural heritage park, measuring app. 63 acres of the hill surrounding Oslo to the east. The park is the result of a cooperation between Oslo Municipality and C. Ludens Ringnes Foundation. The initiative to establish the park came from real estate investor and philanthropist, Christian Ringnes. The park is financed by C. Ludens RIngnes Foundation, and has been open to the public since September 2013. Back then, the collection numbered 31 unique works of art. Today, the park features 49 artworks.

The Ludens Ringnes Foundation has operational responsibility for the park for 50 years from its opening in 2013. The City of Oslo owns the land, and all maintenance and operations are carried out in accordance with the zoning plan agreed between the municipality and the foundation.
During winter, the park can be slippery. We recommend bringing ice grips. Ekebergparken is a public woodland area, and all visits to the park are at your own risk. Our operations team clears and grits the main paths in the park to the best of their ability, and in accordance with the park's zoning plan. With regard to the park's woodland areas, there are strict regulations governing how the area may be maintained. Out of consideration for the preservation of the park's forest floor, nature, and biodiversity, we are not able to grit within the woodland areas themselves.

We greatly appreciate engagement from the public and hope that everyone will help us look after our wonderful park area, so that it remains a pleasant place for all to enjoy.
Our art guides are all highly skilled and hold degrees either in art history or fine arts. They are all trained by the park and have extensive knowledge of both the park’s art collection and the vast cultural history of the area.
